UK Metals Council

The UK Metals Council, UKMC, represents the UK metals sector to government.

The aim of the UKMC is to enhance the profile of the UK metals sector and to support the development of policy for the sector as a  UK Government recognised Sector Council.

UKMC comprises business leaders from the full spectrum of the supply chain, from primary manufacturing to recycling. Its vision is that a modern, sustainable and progressive UK metals industry will be supplying high-quality, innovative and competitively priced products to UK manufacturing and infrastructure projects, as a key part of the circular economy for metals.

The UKMC aims:

1.       To co-ordinate policy responses to government representing a whole sector view, in the areas of:

   a.      Net Zero 2050

   b.      Skills

   c.      Innovation

   d.      Trade

   e.      SMEs and manufacturing supply chains.

2.      To maintain and grow an external profile, positively representing the metals sector, through press and online media.

3.      To organise an annual exhibition to foster a sense of community in the sector and maintain profile.

If you are a metals related trade body, a trade asociation or federation, or a manufacturer in the UK metals sector or its supply chain, get in touch to find out how you can support the work of the UKMC.
