30/01/22 - Energy Crisis – UK Metals Council Calls for Government Support

The increasing cost of energy is adversely affecting UK Metal Council Members’ ability to compete in world markets with members reporting huge price increases after the UK’s carbon price soared by 130% in 2021. UKMC calls for UK Government action.

26/01/22 - Metals Council skills champion, Colin Leighfield, retires as chair of the education, skills and training delivery group.

Since the formation of the UK Metals Council in 2020 Colin Leighfield has chaired the Metals Council’s Education, skills and training delivery group but is now stepping down and handing over to Howard Boswell
